And at Likhari Foundation, we have seen how the festive spirit can transform ordinary days into extraordinary opportunities to uplift others.
Across the world, studies show that charitable giving increases significantly during festive seasons. According to some reports, nonprofits raise between 24% and 47% of their annual online revenue during November–December. This isn’t surprising—festivals naturally remind us of gratitude, family, and the importance of sharing our blessings.
At Likhari Foundation, our festive drives are rooted in this very spirit. Each year, we work closely with underprivileged girls and women, supporting them through skill development programs, mentorship initiatives, job access, and wellness-focused interventions. Festivals give us a unique opportunity to extend this support even further.
During Diwali, our teams conduct learning drives, distribute essential items, and host development workshops. Around Christmas and New Year, we intensify our mentorship programs and provide resources that help women move closer to financial independence. The smiles, the confidence, and the sense of hope we witness during these drives remind us why giving back truly matters.
This year’s Thanksgiving is especially meaningful for us. Our Director, Mr. Gurmeet Likhari, has made a heartfelt decision—he does not wish to receive any personal gifts. Instead, he wants every gesture of love, appreciation, or gratitude to be directed towards the foundation and the causes we support. In his words, “My life already has everything I need. Let every gift become a chance for someone else to grow.”
His decision echoes a powerful truth: generosity is contagious. When one person chooses to give back, it creates a ripple that touches countless lives.
